Woolacombe Hen Party Guide

Surfs up at Woolacombe! Enjoy a fantastic weekend in a seaside resort with loads of things to see, do and sample! Whether you choose to relax on the beach and drink in the sun, or hit the waves and get active, a Woolacombe hen party will have something for everyone!

Woolacombe is a seaside town located in North Devon, and is Devon’s most popular hen party destination. The reason for this is Woolacombe beach, which stretches down the coast of the Bristol channel. The mid-climate is perfect for party goers, as it will give you and the girls an opportunity to get the bathing suits on and head out onto the sand.

Chilling out on the beach during the summer and early autumn months are recommended, as the mid climate means that the beach will have gorgeous temperatures during this time of year.

Woolacombe Hen Party Activities

When talking about exciting hen party activities in North Devon, few can compare to surfing at Woolacombe beach. Here, you can find surf shops for supplies, hire shops to hire the boards, and even a surfing school to get a private lesson. So regardless of your skill level, surfing is a great option to get into the water and have a rip-roaring time with your girls.

If surfing isn’t on the agenda but you still wish to take to the water, there are a number of watersports that make worthy alternatives. Kayaking and canoeing are great fun, as you can team up with hens to navigate the Bristol channel, or take single boats and race each other across Woolacombe bay. Wetsuits will be required for both these activities, as is coasteering. Whilst not in the water, coasteering is where you scale your way around the fossil cliffs of Dover, so you’ll be wearing your wetsuit and jacket in case you fall in! There is always a trained instructor with you on these adventures, so you’re in safe hands.

If you’d prefer to keep your head above water, why not get up in the air? Parasailing is a truly unique experience, where you will literally glide over the water on a parachute that is attached to a speedboat. Soar like an eagle and take in great views as you tower above the beach.

So maybe water isn’t your thing—not to fear, as Horse riding is also available in Woolacombe. You can canter across the beach with your girls as you get a private horse riding lesson, looking super majestic. Or alternatively, shooting activities may take you off the beach but not too far, as you can find places to try your arm at Archery and paintball in Woolacombe.

Alternatively why not take the opportunity to get pampered? There are a number of spas available in both boutique hotels and standalone day spas. You and your girls can choose from a range of heavenly spa treatments to make you feel recharged before heading out on your hen night.

Another way to recharge the batteries after a full-on day of hen activities is through intense retail therapy! There are a wide range of shops to choose from but the most popular type in Woolacombe are the surf shops.
