Louth Stag Do Guide

County Louth is the smallest county in Ireland as it is only 319 square miles. Despite its small size its only the 14th smallest in terms population meaning a lot has been crammed into Louth. County Louth is a great stag do location in Ireland for many reasons, firstly it stretches along the east coast of Ireland meaning that it is a mecca for watersports. Its towns are are full of great heritage and history and would be ideal for a custom made Treasure Hunt!

The E01 road runs straight through the heart of County Louth. The E01 starts at Larne, connecting it Belfast and runs south down the east of Ireland finishing in Seville, Southern Spain (Obviously there is also a boat journey involved). This means that Both Belfast and Dublin are just over an hour away making it an accessible stag do location.

Stag Do in Dundalk

Dundalk and Drogheda are the two largest towns and are ideal for a County Louth stag do. Famous for its Greyhound racing track, Dundalk is the a great stag do location in County Louth. There is no shortage or stag do accommodation in Dundalk as you will find everything from large 4 star hotels to plush B&B’s. Just across the border is Watch Tower Adventures which offer stag do paintballing and stag do bubble football.

Drogheda is in the south of County Louth on the border with Meath and is only 50 minutes form Dublin City centre. It is a port town and offers plenty for County Louth stag weekends. With plenty of stag do accommodation such as hotels in Drogheda, stag do self catered apartments and even hostel accommodation. Only a 30 minute drive from Drogeda is The Zone which is an activity centre that provides great Louth stag do activities such as karting, laser tag and a shooting simulator!

Although Dundalk and Drogheda are the largest towns, Carlingford - a small village, is a massive hotspot for hen and stag weekends! Overlooked by Slieve Foy Mountain, Carlingford is in the north of County Louth and is filled with great heritage such as its medieval streets. Tholsel Street is Carlingford’s main street and is where all the lads will flock for the Carlingford stag night.

Stag Do Carlingford

Carlingford Adventure is an activity centre that offers stag weekends great activities. As Carlingford was built around Carlingford Lough, they offer loads of different water sports such as canoeing, water trampolining, sailing and wind surfing. They also offer some action packed land activities such as laser tag, high ropes course and zip-line.

Stag Do Nightlife

There is no shortage of great stag night restaurants in County Louth from quirky themed restaurants to traditional eateries providing simple delicious ‘pub grub’. Once your lads have been feed then its straight on to bars and nightclubs. Taaffes Castle is the hub of Carlingford in County Louth and has a traditional Irish bar and cool Nightclub. Another great nightlife venue is Mr Ridleys in Dundalk. This stylish venue has chic lighting and nice decor to offer a great stag night out.
