Should You Invite Your Mum to the Hen Party?

By

Every lady is different and all with different opinions and requirements, so it is up to the maid of honour to find out from the Bride-to-be herself whether or not to invite the mum to the hen party! Many women may not approve of inviting the mum to the hen party celebrations as it can potentially limit the choice of hen party activities as well as the fun factor! Alternatively, there are many different ways to have fun if you do decide to bring the mum or the mother-in-law in that case!

The hen party celebrations are a special time for the Bride-to-be to spend with her nearest and dearest and so it is believed that the mum or mother-in-law should be very much part of it! Who says the mum cannot have fun and let her hair down for the day? There are plenty of exciting options for all the hens to enjoy especially the Bride-to-be including a traditional afternoon tea or a refreshing spa break! Moreover, crafty hen party activities including fascinator making or a fascinating cooking class can also be enjoyed by the mum or mother-in-law. Perhaps if they enjoy the finer things in life, they are sure to love a day at the races! You certainly won’t be stuck for choice when arranging a hen party to suit even the older members of the group! Although the mum may have met most of the group already, be sure to include a few icebreakers to get the hens to introduce one another to the mum to ensure the celebrations are a huge success!

Warning, Do Not Invite Mum

However, it does go without saying that if you decide to invite the mum to the celebrations, it will be unlikely that there will be any late night partying or any cheeky hen party activities including nude life drawing or thrilling and adrenaline rushing activities including kayaking, paintballing or ziplining! If you are planning on hosting a smaller hen party, be prepared for the fact that if you are inviting the mum and mother-in-law, there is the possibility of having to invite aunties or possibly grandmothers! Not to mention, the naughty hens will also have to be on their best behaviour as they wouldn’t want the more sophisticated mum or mother-in-law looking down on them!

Before making any decisions, be sure to do your homework and find out what really is the best route to go down, your bestie will either love or loathe you! Now that we have given you our most valuable top tips and ideas, it is now your turn to take care of the rest!
