Electric Picnic is slightly different than other mainstream festivals in Ireland such as Latitude as it has more of an electric vibe. In past years huge international electric and alternative acts such as Björk, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys and The Chemical Brothers have took to the stage. In 2017 the acts that have been announced include Duran Duran, Chaka Khan, Pete Tong, London Grammar, Annie Mac and Rag ’N’ Bone Man to name but a few! For those looking for a little more luxury and comfort on their stag weekend at Electric Picnic, there are a range of nearby hotels, hostels, B&B’s and self-catering houses available. The Maldron Hotel, Portlaoise or the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel are two fantastic 4* hotels that you and the lads can stay at to relax when the partying is over! The Spires Stradbally Self Catering could be the perfect idea for a group of lads at Electric Picnic as you can land home as you please without having to worry about security or card keys for rooms. This is ideal considering how late you are likely to stay out at the festival and you also have the comfort of a proper bed and shower as opposed to camping!
