The Art of Packing for a Hen Party

By

A hen weekend whether it is at home or away is the perfect opportunity to take a relaxing break with your best friends and really let your hair down. Whether your idea of a good time is a beach holiday, dancing the night away with a few cocktails, or a stylish city break, half the fun is deciding what amazing hen party-worthy outfits you’re going to bring with you! Being able to mix and match your items means more outfits in less suitcase space, so knowing what to pack and what not to is essential.

Hen Party City Break

A city break hen party can be great fun with the girls, packed with sightseeing, fabulous restaurants and lots of shopping in a foreign city. Whilst there can be blue skies and sunshine, you’re more likely to spend your time exploring rather than sunbathing so make sure you have comfy shoes, a good pair of jeans and a warmer layer for the evenings.

In your suitcase:
• 1 jumper
• 1 sequined top
• 2 cotton strappy tops
• 1 cotton top
• 1 dress
• 1 jacket
• 1 pair of jeans
Shoes:
• 1 pair of fancy heels
• 1 pair of trainers
• 1 pair of sandals
Accessories:
• 1 pair of sunglasses
• 1 scarf
• 1 belt
• 1 small bag

Long Weekend Beach Holiday

Spending your hen party at a beach location can mean only one thing: sun worshipping! Pack one swimwear piece to do you the weekend and some casual clothes to wear over it during the day. However, also bring a summer dress for something nice to change into in the evening. Don’t forget to pack sun tan lotion!

In your suitcase:
• 1 dress
• 1 sweater
• 1 skirt
• 2 strappy tops
• 1 t shirt
• 1 pair of shorts
• 1 bikini/swimsuit
Shoes:
• 1 pair of flip flops
• 1 pair of leather sandals
Accessories:
• 1 lightweight scarf
• 1 hat
• 1 pair of sunglasses
• 1 necklace
• 1 pair of flip flops
• 1 pair of leather sandals
Essentials:
• Sun tan lotion
• Body moisturiser

Log Cabin Mini Break

Forest getaways are becoming ever more popular and are a fab alternative hen party idea, especially if you’re into outdoors activities such as high ropes courses and rock climbing. Make sure to pack comfortable walking shoes to last you all day, along with a waterproof coat so the chance of rain doesn’t dampen your spirits during the weekend!

In your suitcase:
• 1 jumper
• 3 t shirts
• 1 waterproof coat
• 1 fleece for extra warmth out in the woods
• 1 pair of comfy trousers for outdoor activities of your choice
• 1 pair of jeans for the evening
• Dressy outfit for dinner in the evenings
Shoes:
• 1 pair of walking shoes
• 1 pair of trainers as an alternative to walking boots
• 1 pair of flat pumps for the evening
Accessories:
• Swimwear (if your cabin has a hot tub)
• Bug spray

Little Extras

In addition to your basics, make sure you pack:

• 1 make up bag: make sure to include a bright lipstick to change your look for day to night
• Nail polish for touch ups
• Perfume
• Hairbrush
• 1 pyjama set: a strappy top and shorts pyjama set is great for a beach hen party, or bring long flannel pyjamas if your destination could have a chill at night
• 3 underwear sets, one to be nude in colour
• Plasters and blister patches for sore feet
• Phone charger

No matter where you end up to celebrate your hen party it’s always great to ensure you have everything you need to make your hen party getaway as easy and enjoyable as possible.
