Hen Party Spa Day at Lough Erne Resort and Spa

By

If you’re after a tranquil time with the girls for your hen party experience, indulging in comfort and relaxation, then a spa hen party trip is the one for you. Nothing can beat a bit of pamper time with your closest friends, treating yourselves to a day of luxury as a chance to unwind before the big day. Last week I spent the day at the luxurious Thai Spa in the five-star Lough Erne Resort and Spa, sampling all they have to offer for the ultimate hen spa retreat.

On arrival at the Thai Spa we were greeted by Hanna who personally escorted us to the changing rooms where towel robes and fluffy white slippers awaited us. Once ready, she gave us a guided tour of the spa, showing us the various spa facilities such as the Light Therapy Sauna, Crystal Aroma Steam Room and the Exotic Rain Shower, before leading us to the light relaxation area, the Sabai Sabai Room, meaning 'Health and Happiness'. Whilst Hanna fixed us detox smoothies, or Thai Tonics, and ice cold water we were able to recline and indulge with the latest copy of Vogue, and enjoy the views of the estate, including the peaceful Castle Hume Lough and the Fermanagh Lakelands – the perfect backdrop for a tranquil moment with friends, easing you in to your spa experience. The Sabi Sabi Room is a beautiful location to start your spa day, with plenty of space for your friends and you to recline and spend some quality time together as you begin to unwind and enjoy the relaxing ambiance of the resort.

From here we decided to start our pre-treatment pampering in the Crystal Aroma Steam room, filled with rich fragrance and perfume reminiscent of Thailand, to open our pores and relax the body, before taking a dip in the Jacuzzi – the ultimate spa feature for any hen party, being able to fit all the hens in for laughter and a girlie gossip, whilst still taking in the spectacular outdoor views from across the Infinity Pool. I wore the Maui Plunge bikini top and bottoms from Topshop (above) for my spa visit; a bright, fun print that’s perfect for the summer months and adds a pop of colour.

We then received the ultimate treat of luxurious relaxation; the Body Bliss Full Body massage. Lasting 60 minutes and costing £85 this massage is worth every penny, leaving you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and indeed, in total body bliss. With low mood lighting and rich Thailand aromas in a lavish room of deep mauves and golds, the calming Thai music taking you to blissful tranquillity during your treatment.  The Body Bliss massage is a fabulous treatment to choose when on your hen party, getting the full spa experience with the tension and stress being released from your entire body, leaving you feeling revived and refreshed. Throughout my massage I felt completely at ease and relaxed and my body felt thoroughly pampered. It’s the perfect way for the bride-to-be and her hens to destress from all the wedding prep and indulge in some stress-free time together. After our treatments our spa therapists escorted us in to the Lap Sabai Room, the deep relaxation area, with more stunning views out through the trees to the surrounding lakes. Our therapists fixed us infused herbal tea and fresh mango and melon bites before leaving us to relax further in the serene surroundings. This time allowed us to recharge and to spend some more quality time together, which is ideal for a hen party group, whatever the size, grouping you all together again after your treatments to keep the relaxing party feel going.  The great thing about the Thai Spa is that there is no rush to end your spa session and you can take your time relaxing with your hens and enjoy the full spa experience together. The warm herbal tea in the quirky willow pattern inspired cups added to the Thai feel of the spa and the tone of relaxation and revival running throughout the day along with the mango and melon, cleansing the palette and making you feel fresh inside and out.

Before the end of our spa session we treated ourselves to some time in the Thermal area, starting with the Light Therapy Sauna, to bring our time gently to a close, enveloping ourselves in the heat and the Thai scents of jasmine and coconut, and then following with the Exotic Rain Shower, cooling ourselves off in the mist feeling cleansed, calm and with a clear mind after all our pampering. We finished our spa day with a relaxing dip in the Infinity Pool, set to the beautiful backdrop of the lotus flower mosaic artwork above, creating a serene ambience to end the day.

Ladies, if you’re after a luxury hen party experience or somewhere to totally chill out together then the Thai Spa at the Lough Erne Resort is the perfect place; stunningly picturesque, with absolutely incredible pampering and relaxation. A girlie trip with your closest friends deserves the best, making a hen party that you will never forget! So check out the Thai Spa and all it has to offer here. Happy pampering!
