Under The Sea Hen Party Theme

Disney princess Halloween costumes never go out of style, no matter how old you are. And whether you want to go sexy, funny, or cute with your costume, there is one for you. If you want a theme for your hen party and are looking for something a little different then ‘The little Mermaid’ or ‘Under the Sea’ theme could be the one for you. We have all seen Disneys The Little Mermaid and all wished that we could be a mermaid, even for one day!

Hen Party Make up

If you're like me, there was a large phase of your childhood in which you were obsessed with mermaids. They’re mysterious, glamorous, beautiful and sparkle, it’s an easy sell. Use glitters, sequins and ocean tones to create your under the sea look. Mermaid makeup is so much fun because there are so many different ways to create the look.  There are sea mermaids, lagoon mossy green mermaids, and endless colours and decor to choose from. There are any number of tutorials online to help your create your perfect look and a great tip that I have come across is to use netting as a stencil to create the look of scales.

Hen Party Costume Ideas

Whether you choose to make your own or order ready-made online there are options for all shapes, tastes and budgets.

You may remember Lauren Conrad made a stunning mermaid costume for herself for Halloween a few years back. Click here to see a step by step guide on how she did it along with a list of all the materials you will need.

If you want to go against the pack and go as Ursula from The Little Mermaid.  Again online is bursting with ready-made Ursula costumes or DIY tutorials. Accessorise with Ursula's trademark conch shell for a necklace and your good to go. Your hairstylist could help you achieve Ursula's famous silver crop, albeit permanently. If you don't want your hair cut short, much less bleached for a costume, simply tie your hair back into a bun, and give the front some volume. With a comb and blow dryer, tease your hair to sky scraping heights. Then apply a temporary white hair colouring. Otherwise, you could use a voluminous or spiky white wig.

I hope that you have enjoyed this week’s theme. Weather you choose to go cute or sexy this theme is easy to achieve.

Whichever side you choose, good or evil have fun with your costume

Until next week

Have a fab weekend
