Top 5 Hen Party Chick Flicks

Nothing really beats a chick flick, no matter how much we enjoy hunky men in action movies!  Whether in a hotel, cottage or tent - a girly movie surrounded by your chosen hens could not be better!

I have chosen 5 of my favourite wedding themed chick flicks. Please go easy on the much loved Ben & Jerry’s!

Bridesmaids (2011)

By far my favourite movie OF ALL TIME is Bridesmaids. Released in the United Kingdom in June 2011 and is still a chart topper in all reviews. The girly, hilarious film based around the competition of two maids of honour and their journey through vital events in the wedding process together. It is fantastic. Megan McCarthy known for her unique humour will have you hens laughing your socks off. With an uplifting ending there will be no need for tears, but you may have to get up and dance.

The Wedding Date (2005)

This is one of the most incredible movies I have ever seen! The quirky girly humour throughout finishing with the most AMAZING ending sums up the movie perfectly. The gorgeous Debra Messing hires a male escort as her date to play boyfriend at her sister’s wedding begins their adventure together. For you hens it’s got that bit of essential drama to keep you hanging off your seat and some hunky men (Dermot Mulroney, yum!) to make sure you are concentrating. You may need to be prepared with a few scented tissues when the movie ends at the realization of true love.

Bride Wars (2009)

Bride Wars is definitely the ultimate watch for girls, especially those planning a wedding. It involves two best friends who are patiently (not so patient) waiting for their boyfriends to ask the question. When they both indulge in engagement they begin planning their essentials. This leads to conflict and drama between the two hens but will provide a few giggles on the way.

27 Dresses (2008)

The fabulous Catherine Heigl (Jane) explores her obsession with weddings whilst trying to find the perfect man. She has taken part in 27 weddings, variously themed and stored them in her apartment. The movie travels through a bond of two sisters and the journey of her baby sister marrying the guy she has always been in love with. Lets not forget the amazing James Marseden who appears with lavish gifts for Jane, whom he shares his love hate relationship with. Drama between both sisters and compatible partners provides movie-loving hens with a giggle or two.

Mamma Mia (2008)

Well, where to begin, every woman in this whole world has to love Mamma Mia, right? The most enchanting story of a bride to be who is trying to find her real father, following the rhythmic lyrics of the legendary 70’s band. Opening Weekend: £6,594,058 (UK) (11 July 2008) this is an utterly sensational profit, after watching the movie you will understand why!! The story is based in a beautiful old world Greek town; with vintage dresses and decoration it is totally inspiring. The known songs to all women, you will not refuse to join in.

Harleigh Lagdon

Harleigh enjoys fitness and dining (the perfect combination)! She loves to travel the world and explore new hotspots!
