Mexican Fiesta Hen Party Idea

Pick a colour palette

When we think of Mexico we automatically think of bright colours such as green, red, yellow, pink and orange. Use as much colour as you wish to give it that authentic mexican feel! Why not send out mexican inspired invites to get everyone in the mood leading up to the event whilst giving it a glamorous and stylish edge!

Personalize it

Nothing will make your hen party guests feel more special than creating unique details just for them! So go ahead and add personal touches where you feel it’s appropriate! Show your bride-to-be that you went the extra mile.

A great idea that I came across is to use empty beer bottles as candle holders and creating a range of unique mexican cocktails with quirky names based around the girls nicknames (but with a mexican twist)! These little touches will add character and interest to your theme. Be the hostess with the moistest by thanking your guests for coming with little mexican party favours to take home such as a paper fan.

Create focal points

Your décor will make a bigger impression if it’s concentrated in specific areas, rather than sparsely strewn about. The dinner table will be the easiest area to decorate and the place where your guests will gather. Why not adorn your setting with old charger plates, sombrero name tags and drink labels, red napkins with maracas and mini cacti, a Mexican blanket table runner and, of course, the sombrero centre piece.

What kind of fiesta would it be without a piñata and a photo booth? A photo booth is a fun activity to have at any celebration. Just set up a sign so guests know where to take their photos, and place funny props and costumes in the area. The photos will capture memories of the night and keep sake for your guests.

A calavera or sugar skull as it is sometimes referred to, is the term applied to decorative skulls made from either sugar or clay and used in the Mexican celebration for the Day of the Dead.

Granted this doesn’t seem like a good idea for celebration such as a hen party they do make for beautiful and interesting costumes. Of course with Halloween coming up this could also be a great idea for a Halloween hen party and if this isn’t your thing you could go for the more tradition Mexican dress of ponchos and sombreros.

I think this theme works particularly well if you are staying in for your hen party as supposed to heading out on the town. There are so many little touches that you can add to make this night special and a night your bride will never forget!
