Flower Power Hen Party Ideas

By

Let’s try and squeeze the last little bit out of this Summer before the dark evenings set in.

This flower power theme can be interpreted in any way you want but for me two main looks spring to mind! The more colourful 60’s vibe complete with flares and a bandana or a softer bohemian look with floral garlands and white flowing frocks.

Bohemian Chic

If you’re looking for something different and creative for a hen party there are a number of providers that offer a fun flower crown making workshop like the talented team at Brides-Made!

For the bohemian look think floral dresses, crochet tops, white vests, denim shorts, waistcoats, suede or leather jackets. Finish your look with some friendship bracelets, stacking rings and a layered necklace (check out
Accessorize for some gorgeous pieces).

Just remember not to go over the top or it could end up looking too much!

Hippy Chick

This look is completely different to the first. Most of us may have missed the 60's but you can recreate the Woodstock Vibe in a groovy 60’s inspired look!

There are so many fantastic costumes online but if you want to go a bit more individual then why not create your own. Have a pick through your local vintage or thrift shops for some more authentic pieces and create your own interpretation of flower power! 60’s fashion was all about bold prints, bright colours and statement jewellery.

The makeup usually consists of defined lashes and sharp cat eyes, with a nude lip! The hair trends of this decade were pixie cuts, or long hair that was flipped out at the bottoms with bangs (like always there are many online tutorials to help you create the look).

I hope I have inspired with this flower power hen party idea. The general attitude of the 60’s was ”anything goes” so you really can’t go wrong with this theme. Have fun!
