Spring Summer Hen Party Fashion

By

Even though it was late last year that the Spring Summer 2016 collections powered down runways in the fashion capitals across the world it’s only now that we’re seeing the tops trends in the high street collections, ready for our own spring summer. If you’ve got a hen party coming up soon why not take note of the top catwalk trends and add a little touch of something new into your hen look? Here are some of the top trends to look out for to give you a great fashion-forward hen party outfit!

Learn your Lines

Stripes have always been popular, with the infamous signature Breton stripe springing to mind, but they’ve taken on a new life form this season taking on various widths, colours, directions and styles. For a glam hen party try a midi body con skirt with vertical stripes and a crop top in a matching horizontal stripe, found in Pull & Bear or Topshop, or go wild and clash your stripes like Missoni, above. When doing this, keep one colour of stripe the same throughout to tie your look together, such as red, and team with a red lipstick to keep your look chic for a hen night out.

If you’re after a more day time hen look take inspiration from Ralph Lauren and their long flowing, blue and white striped dresses, perfect for a summer hen party at home or abroad. For a fashionable twist, team their nautical stripes shirts with the bright floral prints of pencil skirts - a fresh take on a chic lunchtime hen party look.

Life in Technicolour

Colour burst designs always send a shot of instant pleasure into an outfit and this is the perfect season to add bright colouring to your hen party looks. Take the lead from Christopher Kane’s collection, shown above, where all colours of the rainbow were used, mixed in with deep blacks and bright whites to make them all the more vivid. Colour-rich pieces make a huge statement so let them shine with understated black and let their vibrancy claim the spotlight. Don’t be afraid to clash your colours against your more muted backdrop, perhaps having a blood red court heel with a royal blue suede clutch and a hot pink lip. Mixing colours adds a sense of fun and spontaneity to match a hen night out with the girls perfectly.

Fashionable Frills

Frills are always seen on and off the runway, but they are having a more grown up moment this season. They fall into two camps, either dark and shimmering in texture, like Ocasr de la Renta’s collection, or soft and sugary, such as JW Anderson’s version, above. His frills take on all sizes and forms, running from a simple navy ruffle edging of a dress to large scale grey, white and pink frills in thick fabrics to stop them from being too feminine. Make sure your frills are on show in the form of decorative necklines and rippled sleeves. Keep your petal pink ruffles soft with elegant heels for an afternoon tea hen party, or team a ruffled blouse with leather look jeans and a dark vampy lip for a soft rock look, also big this season.

Ladies, whilst these are only three of the biggest trends hitting the high street this season there’s plenty of ways to wear each of them to give you multiple stunning outfits for whatever your hen party throws at you. There’s something out there for everyone’s very own spring summer wardrobe collection!
