Hen Party Sandal Style

Sandals are the perfect way to add a summery feel to any hen outfit, whether or not you’re leaving the shores of the UK. With endless options of style, colour and embellishment, (not to mention also being gloriously comfortable!) it doesn’t matter what you’re doing or where you are - stylish sandals can be the perfect shoe option for your hen party.

The over the top embellished sandals from Studio The Label have been all over everyone’s Instagram feeds this summer, including Made In Chelsea's Rosie Fortescue's, with their fun bright colours and furry pom poms and it’s not hard to see why. Their vibrant, fun nature, having been inspired by the Greeks and being beautifully handcrafted makes for serious sandal envy. To be a bit different from everyone else why not opt for this black pair above, punctured with hot pink pom poms and tassels, compared to the standard brown leather and rainbow coloured version? These sandals will take you to many hen party locations easily; whether it be a relaxing night out for drinks in the city with wide legged black culottes, or out from dinner in a sunny jet set hen party location with a white shift dress and popping pink lips. Be daring like the model above and add black toes to your look for a darker gothic vibe that will take you into the cooler late summer.

A simpler sandal silhouette comes in the form of Aldo’s Riana sandal, in a classic black that will see you through this season and into the many more to come. Whist the ankle strap and show style are one of the biggest on trend looks right now this pair boasts a nod to the 60s mod era with its chunky midi block heel – proving sandals don’t have to be completely flat to be comfortable! It’s silver mirrored look adds a fun dimension to the sandals, in a more subtle way than the Studio the Label sandals, that will loom fabulous with matching silver accents running throughout the look, such as shining rings and long tasselled necklaces.

Another way of taking your sandals with your from summer into autumn is by following the fur trend. These faux furry slides from Zara, above, are both fun and comfy and – even though they are a bit unconventional – will win you serious style points. They are a great way of incorporating the slides trend into a more fashionable setting and a different way of wearing fur than your standard coat or stole. Even though the colours are neutral in tones (perfect for autumn) you will still want them to do the talking in your outfit. To keep the look from becoming too much create the ideal contrast by keeping the rest of your look chic and sharp; team your furry slides with tailored black cigarette cropped trousers and an oversized crisp white shirt for an off duty model look that is fabulous for hen party cocktails – and a little bit different than a cocktail dress!

If black is still feeling a tad heavy for you to transition into at the moment start moving your wardrobe into the autumnal direction with grey tones and textures. This fringed pair of sandals from ASOS, above, still has a summer vibe to them and could be easily worn to a late summer music festival hen weekend. But they can also be worn with a fine knit long sleeved body con dress in a fun alternative to high heels or with a fun silver sparkling midi skirt. Layer your shades for a perfect tonal look, with marl greys, light lavenders and punctured with a deeper charcoal grey to really make a statement.

So ladies, don’t be afraid to keep your sandals on your feet a little while longer. We may be near the end of our summer months but with so many styles, shapes and colours of flat sandals out there they’re slowly becoming a staple shoe for the whole year, rather than just a fair weather shoe – and an absolutely fabulous accessory to top off any hen outfit, wherever your hen party may be!
