Pyjama Party Hen Night

By

Sometimes the best kind of hen party is a fun filled girls’ night in (especially in the colder months!). It’s a cool, relaxed way to reminisce about your single life with the girls before saying goodbye to it. A good way to give the evening a bit of a twist is to add a fun theme – and what could be more fun than everyone throwing on their favourite cosy pyjamas for a night of girly movies, manicures, a good old gossip and plenty of food? Here are my top picks for what to wear wherever your hen party takes you.

There are so many ways to wear flowers, especially in nightwear. This floral set from Boux Avenue is fun and flirty, with the shorts having a floaty feminine shape that’s both comfy and fashionable for relaxing in. Teamed with a simple white slogan adds an edge to the set, with the elements of black saving the look from becoming too girly. If a strappy top seems too cold team your floral shorts with a soft sweater, in charcoal grey or black, adding a casual, slightly sports contrast the floral print, similar to how Rachel Green wears her pyjamas in Friends. Don’t forget long fluffy slipper socks to keep your toes warm!

If flowers aren’t really your thing you can add some fun to your night time look with a quirky animal print. This black and white printed set from M&S boasts soft, stretchy fabric makes it perfect for a night relaxing with the girls, to throw on after a hen spa day or to wear around the house getting ready before a hen night out. The black stripe around the bottom of the top saves the print from overwhelming the look and adds a sports luxe element, looking casual and comfy, yet also chic with its monochrome palette.

If any of you have watched Keeping Up With The Kardashians, especially the Christmas episodes, you will know how the family loves a good pair of silk button down pyjamas - spots, stripes, flowers or even plain. However, if silk feels too fussy or not practical try a pair of flannel pyjamas. The red check of this pair from DKNY, above, create the stereotypical sleepover feel and with their fleecy element are great for wearing to a hen night in or for bringing with you for a hen weekend away if you’re heading to a colder climate.

For an extra bit of themed fun why not try a hen themed pyjama for all the hens to wear? This “Hens On Tour” slogan night shirt from ASOS is a great way of incorporate a hen party element into your time together, especially if you’re not planning on any hen-styled clothing or accessories the rest of the time – it’s a subtle way to bring all the girls together without everyone having to work their other outfits around hen party t shirts. It’s a great memento for each girl to have and one that they can easily wear again. It also will make for great photos of your night or weekend together!

No matter what your personal style is, there is always a set of pyjamas out there to reflect it and whatever you and your friends are doing to celebrate together. So whether you’re wanting new nightwear for a cosy hen night at home, or to look your best at all hours of the night on a hen weekend away there’s something for everyone!
