Chic Fur Fashions for Stylish Hen Parties

By

Karl Lagerfeld said, “You cannot fake chic but you can be chic and fake fur”. With fur everywhere in this season’s collections, from fur pockets at Marni and Michael Kors to monstrous fur coats eligible for travelling through Narnia at Louis Vuitton, the faux fur trend is back this year with a vengeance. Whether you’re having a luxury weekend country escape or a night out, fur can be worn by anyone and everyone and can transform any look into one of glamour and opulence.

Faux Fur Jacket from ZARA

The classic fur garment has to be the faux fur coat. This mottled one above from ZARA would make Cruella DeVille envious and adds a twist on the usual tan furs. It also allows you to wear it with various colour palettes of grey, cream, black or tan, creating a classically chic look that can take you from a hen party lunch, to dinner, to drinks. Whilst the colours aren’t loud the large shape and texture will add an exciting element to your look. For a shorter length Topshop has faux fur coats in caramel and black, with collars, hoods and zips for a more modern twist on the long fur, whilst Warehouse boasts a shaggy grey fur that shimmers in the light and is perfect with silver accessories and charcoal colours.

For more of a party piece why not try a coloured fur and make it the focal element of your look? Topshop boasts a long red fur with collar, which when worn with red lipstick and gold shimmering accessories or a gold dress can create a truly glamorous look. If you’re after something even more colourful, try a striped or patchwork fur. ASOS supply both, with stripes of cream, black and blue and patchworks made of burgundies, greys and dusky pinks, whist M&S currently offer any colour, cut and pattern you could dream of.

Faux Fur Tonal Stole by TOPSHOP

Topshop is truly the place to go if you’re looking for any fur item of clothing, with a large collection of stoles in all colours. A faux fur scarf is the perfect way to alter an outfit without the fur texture being too over powering and can be kept on inside your hen party venue once your coat is removed. The neutral tonal one above can add an extra layer to a fabulous outfit and can go with anything you chose to wear. If your outfit is simple or lacks pattern try a stole with a stripe or dip dyed ends to add some interest. Pair with a slim line camel boyfriend style coat for a really chic outfit.

Pink Dip Dye Gilet by MISS SELFRIDGE

If a fur coat seems too heavy, but a stole not enough for your look, a fur gilet is the perfect in between. This dip dyed one from Miss Selfridge brings the season’s key colour of burgundy into the look and is great with a simple black outfit with a burgundy lip and heels to match. For a more vintage look try a neutral toned gilet with a long sleeved loose floral dress or a long length knitted turtle neck dress in autumnal colours, creating an outfit with real warmth.

Faux Fur Textured Clutch by MANGO

No accessory is more fun than a fur accessory! This furry bag from Mango comes in a variety of colours to tie in with your hen night outfit and is a great way slip a quirky trend into your look, especially if the bride has already specified a theme. The tassel and pom pom charms accompanying the clutch above makes it a really fun bag to add to an outfit and the red colour can match a red lip or nail polish.

There are so many ways to wear the fur trend in a way that’s chic and can suit any style of event that a hen party entails! Oozing glamour, a fur element can add a touch of allure to your hen party look, and with the added bonus of keeping you warm in the early hours when your hen night finally comes to a close, what’s not to like?
