Hen Party Beauty and Pampering

Wedding season can be seriously costly but there are some thrifty ways you can make your hen night beauty routine a little more cost effective, because looking beautiful shouldn't cost a bomb!

Counteracting stressed out skin during wedding session needn't mean a costly trip to a dermatologist. Instead you can easily make your own products at home. One of my faves is a Green Tea and Honey Scrub. Simply mix together 1 tablespoon of strained green tea, 1 tablespoon of pure honey and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Green Tea contains powerful anti-ageing properties and can speedily repair blemishes and scar tissue, while Honey effectively opens the pores leading to better cleansing and also adds moisture to the skin. Get scrubbing the day before the hen party so you’ll have perfectly dewy skin on the night.

I love nothing more than freshly manicured nails but I don’t enjoy the expensive price tag that comes with them. If you still want nail art that feels unique and original you can pick up a packet of nail wraps. They stick to the surface of the nail and come in hundreds of different colours and designs. You could even match them to your hen night outfit or grab a set of hen themed nail wraps (available from ebay) for a truly customised touch.

A good hair stylist is like a good best friend but if you don’t fancy shelling out lots of cash to get hen party worthy hair then why not try out some styles at home instead? The Instyler is a revolution in at home hair styling. You can straighten, curl or just add volume, all with one styler. And the fun part is you can try out all the different styles on the run up to the hen party and choose your fave one for the big hen night.

The web is chock full of discount stores offering beauty buys at knockdown prices. Two of my favourites are Fragrance Direct.com and Xtras.co.uk, which offer over 50% discount on lots of well known brands including Rimmel, Barry M, Revlon and Maxfactor. So tempting that you might like to stock up on a few non-hen night related products too!

If the purse strings are particularly tight a fun way to introduce new products in to your beauty routine is to have a product swap with your fellow hens. Why not get together, drink some wine, trade of all your unwanted beauty goodies and discuss the plans for the big hen night?!

Have a great weekend.
