Victorian Hen Party Costumes

Our Victorian Escapade venue offers a delightful mix of below-stairs industriousness and upstairs luxury! Your hen party girls will first dress up as servants and undertake various ‘duties’ such as chamber pot races, baking a cake and a rather mischievous laundry challenge before enjoying a social climb to become the gentry! Your hen party ladies will thoroughly enjoy picking their posh costumes and swirling around in their elegant long dresses is always quite an event…all of which are provided by us.

Get a small taste of life downstairs, take part in mischievous drama in the drawing room, and enjoy fine dining served by the butler and footman. This is the chance your hen party girls have been waiting for to feel like Lady Mary, Elizabeth Bennett!

Fun Hen Party Activities

Your hen party ladies will be quite busy tending to their initial servant chores but be rest assured that they’re more about the fun than actually getting the job done! Your hen maids may start the day in the kitchen making a dessert, perhaps a delicious old-fashioned apple cake that will be the star feature on the dessert trolley later on.

Let the laughter and steam rise as one when you hen ladies get stuck into some laundry fun, learning the art of using carbonic soap and washing clothes clean with some good old fashioned elbow grease! Challenge your hen party maids to a hilarious chamber-pot race! Run run, but don't splash a drop! Your hen do ladies may be split into teams with the aim of crossing the finishing line with the most liquid left in their chamber pots!

We then move your hen party maids to the dressing room and everyone changes attire to become hen ladies before moving upstairs to the drawing room for some parlour games, a dance and of course the glamorous hen party photo shoot! Our parlour games and classic Victorian choreographed dance moves will have your hen party ladies squealing with laughter!

Sit in our lavishly decorated dining room to an elegantly set table for afternoon tea. You and your hen ladies will savour a selection of delicately cut sandwiches, cakes and buns served by our butlers. Sip on beautifully brewed tea and coffee from our delicate china cups and saucers as you chatter to the girls in your poshest accent!

Victorian Escapade is located at Clonard House, Mullingar, County Westmeath. The house is a ten minute walk from the town centre and is available for booking for a minimum group of twelve hens and a maximum of seventy!
