The standard rooms are Double and Double & Single Rooms which are ideal for you and the boys on your stag weekend and are both kitted out with queen sized beds made with crisp white cotton sheets; tea and coffee facilities; and access to the leisure centre which features a swimming pool; steam room; jacuzzi; and sauna. You can spread yourself out in a Double Room on your own or fit more of the gang in together in the Double & Single room which includes a single bed in addition to the queen-sized bed (you can draw straws over who stays in which!). If you think you need some extra space for the whole gang to get ready, book one of the Shearwater’s Family Rooms, these have all the facilities of the Double and Single Room but with the addition of a pull-out bed. The Presidential Suite is the choice for you if you want to live like a celebrity on your stag party, with all the features already mentioned and the addition of a luxury marble bathroom with a deep jacuzzi bath and separate shower; a super king sized bed; a spacious living and dining room with an entertainment system; and a plasma screen television in each living space. You and the boys won’t even want to leave the hotel if you stay in this top class suite!


The Canal Bar and Bistro at the Shearwater Hotel is the ideal spot for you and your stags to kick off a lively stag weekend. If you and the boys are looking for somewhere to have a drink or two; eat a tasty meal; and even enjoy some live music, the Canal Bar is the place for you. There is a wide range of drinks available including wine; cocktails and craft beer alongside the usual favourites. The bar menu is extensive and has everything your stag party could possibly want to eat including a gourmet burger selection; a choice of sirloin or fillet steaks; and a daily catch available for those who prefer to sample the seafood of the West coast. The bar menu caters for all dietary requirements and includes a vegetarian menu and coeliac-friendly dishes on request. Live music is offered every Friday to Sunday from 10pm so you and the boys can enjoy the best of local entertainment during your stag weekend!


If you’re looking for great food during your stag weekend, the Shearwater Hotel is also home to the Marina Restaurant which prides itself on its high quality, locally sourced cuisine. Whether you and the boys are craving beef; chicken; seafood; or even a vegetarian dish, the Marina Restaurant only serves the best quality produce available alongside a wide selection of carefully selected wines.     Big hotel with good food, nice bar and friendly staff. Nice big swimming pool too. Very good value. I have stayed here twice and is much better value than Galway city which is not so far away. Nice big rooms and huge reception area and bar.
