Accommodation

Clifden Bay Hostel provides fantastic accommodation for all the stags after a day of exhilarating activities. Its central location in the town of Clifden ensures that everything you need is easily accessible including miles of beaches and hills and mountains suitable for hiking if the Real Adventures experience leaves you seeking more. There are also a number of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Free Wi-Fi is also available on site in the adjoining bar where you and your stags can enjoy a 10% discount on the bar menu and live music playing 7 nights a week. The on-site restaurant serves traditional Irish food to keep the stags energy up after an exciting day exploring the west coast!

Coasteering

Coasteering combines a number of thrilling activities including cliff jumping, climbing, swimming and scrambling to explore all the gullies, caves, cracks and coves of different rock formations created by the sea. Every session of coasteering is unique and Real Adventures uses a number of different coasteering sites that their expert guides know better than anyone. Undoubtedly, Real Adventures provides the best possible experience of coasteering in Connemara. All sessions can be tailored to your own preferences according to what the group feels suits them best in terms of adventure, fitness and ability.

All safety equipment and a highly experienced instructor are provided. You’ll need to bring a towel, swimming togs/shorts, a second pair of old shorts to go over your wetsuit and an old pair of shoes (a pair that you don’t mind getting wet). Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are all provided by Real Adventures. Don’t forget to pack a sense of adventure!

Kayaking

Kayaking at Real Adventures takes you completely off the beaten track to an unseen part of the Connemara coast, showing you some of the greatest hidden gems of the coastline including sea caves; sea arches; and the outstanding cliffs of Cleggan head. On request, the group can also snorkel on Mannin Bay and kayak in the Western Blueway which will give you a whole new perspective on the area. Mannin Bay has been chosen under a new government initiative as part of the Western Blueway; this recognises it as one of the best areas for water sports such as kayaking and snorkelling. The crystal clear waters along the bay make it ideal for snorkelling and the stags can even meet a family of seals that live there. If you’re planning a stag party in the summer months, you can also try a sunset kayak tour so that your group can see the sun set over the Atlantic from your kayak.

All necessary equipment including sit on top kayaks, paddles, wetsuits, buoyancy aids and snorkelling gear are provided by Real Adventures but you will need to bring swimming togs/shorts, a towel and a pair of old shoes you don’t mind getting wet!

Rock Climbing

Rock-climbing is the most thrilling adventure for all the stags but it’s also the safest (for those worried brides-to-be at home!). You can choose different levels of difficulty depending on how much of a challenge you and your stags would prefer- even if you’ve never done rock-climbing before, there’s a level for you. Once you reach the top, another thrilling adventure awaits as you prepare to abseil back to the ground.

All equipment is provided by Real Adventures. You will need to bring runners and suitable clothing for outdoor activities!

Stand Up Paddle Boarding and Surfing

Stand up paddle boarding has been rapidly growing in popularity over the past number of years and has quickly become the fastest growing water sport in the world! It’s accessible to everyone and great for any level of ability as the boards come in different sizes and widths to suit every stag regardless of experience of body shape. Real Adventures use longer, wider boards as they are most suitable for beginners on flat water. Standing up means you can see more of the great outdoors surrounding you and you can look down to see the wildlife of the water below. All necessary equipment including stand up paddle boards, paddles, wetsuits, buoyancy aids and safety equipment are provided by Real Adventures

Surfing

Alternatively, you can ride the waves of the Atlantic Ocean by taking part in a surfing session at Real Adventures. The best of the best surf instructors will teach you how to be a pro on the board in just a few hours. All equipment necessary is provided to each stag by Real Adventures. Just bring along a towel and swimming shorts. A surf session lasts around two and a half hours and where possible there will be three sessions per day.
