Hen Party Packages
There are two main packages available for you and your girls on this exciting trip down the River Corrib: the Bosun’s Package and the Captain’s Package.
The Bosun Package
The Bosun’s Package is a great way to include this fun activity into your plans for a hen weekend in Galway as it is a two hour special trip kicking off at 4.30pm and sailing back for 6.30pm (between April and October). You’ll be welcomed on to the boat with a glass of bubbly before setting sail past castles (which all the princess brides-to-be are sure to enjoy!) and other amazing sites of this scenic part of Galway. The resident DJ is sure to set the boat swaying with the best hits for all your hens to dance and sing along to.
The Captain's Package
If you want truly royal treatment aboard the Corrib Princess, the Captain’s Package may be the one for you. This is a private hire of the boat which means it’s just you; your girls; and nobody else- you can imagine all the best celebrity diva’s do this when they host a boat party. Upon arrival, all the ladies will be treated to a complimentary glass of bubbly to sip while soaking in the sites of the River Corrib. You and your hens will then be taken on a 4 hour cruise between 7pm and 11pm. You can tailor this party entirely to your preferences including the choice of having a resident DJ on board and even treating yourselves to a fantastic barbeque catered by Irish Time’s columnist and founder of the Galway Food Festival JP McMahon’s catering company (so you know you and the girls will be eating some of the best food Galway has to offer). The minimum number of hen’s for the Captain’s Package is 20 so this is ideal for those planning a bigger hen party and trying to find an activity that’s fun for everyone. This trip on the Corrib Princess won’t be forgotten in a hurry!
On Board Bar
The bar on board the Corrib Princess is fully licensed and fully stocked, eagerly awaiting the arrival of you and your thirsty hens! Beers, ciders, wines and fizzy drinks- this bar has almost everything except shots and cocktails. Being royalty, the Corrib Princess keeps it classy by only serving drinks fit for princesses but there’ll be plenty of your drink of choice flowing to keep all your ladies happy and hydrated! If you choose the Bosun’s package, up to 5 hen parties sail together so there’s sure to be a great atmosphere on board at this bar.
DJ and Dancing
Hen Party DJ
The resident DJ is Aidan Kenny, a professional DJ specialising in weddings; parties; and corporate events. He has a collection of over 50’000 songs so you and your girls can request your favourite tracks to kick off the party. Don’t worry if you’ve got a mixed bunch of ages and musical tastes in your hen party, this DJ has tracks to keep everyone on their feet and enjoying the tunes so you and your girls are guaranteed a great evening of memorable hits.
Dancing
The dancing is the highlight of a hen party on the Corrib Princess for many guests as it’s such a great way to spend a few hours sailing down a river with your best girls, dancing and singing and to your favourite songs. This is also a fantastic way to include older family members and friends or even pregnant members of your hen party who may not want to stay out until the early hours of the morning dancing at the nearest nightclub. This is regularly a hit with the Mother Hen (a.k.a. mother-of-the-bride) and is definitely a fantastic evening of fun for everyone!
Barbeque
The optional barbeque meal served on board the Corrib Princess comes exclusively as part of the Captain’s Package but if you do choose this package, the BBQ is a great option to keep all your hens energy levels up with delicious food. It is catered by Cava Bodega, a popular restaurant based in Galway with a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor. This restaurant is one of three restaurants under the Eat Galway Restaurant Group where JP McMahon is the Culinary Director. JP is founding chair and director of the Galway Food Festival and a columnist for the Irish Times so he is in the know about what good food really is and will only serve up the best to you and your girls. The barbecue option is a great way to cater your party aboard the Corrib Princess and will be appreciated by your hungry hens after a few hours of craic and dancing!
Location
The Corrib Princess sets sail from Woodquay in the heart of Galway city and travels along the River Corrib to Lough Corrib. On the cruise, you and your girls will see the very best of Galway heritage including castles and various other historical sites. The city itself is a fantastic place to host your hen party with many hotels, shops and restaurants centrally located.
