70's Hen Party Theme

As we all know the 70s vibe is back in the shops, Floppy hats, platform shoes and floaty maxi dresses. This is a key trend for the summer and therefore a great theme for your spring/summer hen party. Fashion in the sixties was full of color, textures and patterns (below). Tan Ankle Strap Peeptoe Block Heels £24,99 available from New Look.Stone Floppy Hat £14.99 available from New Look in various colours.

70's Makeup Ideas

For anyone wanting to replicate the famous doe eyed eye make-up of the 70s, not being much of a make-up specialist myself, I have two helpful tutorials on youtube that show you exactly how to copy the look and include which products and brushes you’ll need to do so. Each video has a different take on the look so just decide which suits you best. One key product in these looks is liquid eyeliner. My favorite is Rimmel Exaggerate liquid Eyeliner £5.39 available from all Rimmel stockists.

70's Hair Styles

The 70’s era was all about big glamorous hair style so the key is to add as much volume as possible. I have included some links below to some videos which may help you a bit, especially if hair is not your thing. They main products and tools needed to recreate these looks will be hairspray, rollers or tongs, bobby pins and a backcombing bush.

I hope that you have enjoyed this week’s blog because this is one of my favourite styles at the moment and I think it is a great way to bring a theme into your hen weekend without going down the road of costumes and fancy dress. There are so many 70’s inspired pieces on the high street right now that you have no problem putting together the perfect outfit.

Until next Week ladies,

Happy hen party planning!
